Form of the Jade Uroboros is realised! From here the fine details are carved and life begins to emerge.
At this point the tail emerging from
between the wings and passing through the mouth is beginning to be refined.
The twist of the underbelly is roughly formed to carry the visual flow of the
tail from one side of the head, through the mouth and curl back over the body from one side to the other.
Carved Jade Uroboros

Lining the flow of the wing tips is lightly tooled in with the high speed, pneumatic hand piece. It was crucial not to carve too deep here. A fine balance for the appearance of the wings wrapping over the body bulk could be easily compromised.
